What you should know before do concrete pump
They allow for faster, more accurate placement of your concrete deliveries, so you’ll find yourself wasting fewer supplies and having the right mixture of concrete exactly when you need it. However, there are two different types of pump – boom pumps and ground line bumps. So which should you select? Here are a few of the situations which will determine which pump you’ll choose.
NO VEHICULAR ACCESS
The main reason you’ll need a concrete pump rather than receiving concrete directly from a volumetric mixer is when the truck can’t easily get close to the pour site. In many locations, the ground is not stable enough for vehicles to move across it, or it would be difficult to transport the concrete in wheelbarrows. This could apply to a lot of situations, including where the pour site is located behind buildings, in tight spaces or at raised levels. In these cases, either pump can be used, but if it’s possible, choose a ground line pump as they’re a little simpler to use and more economical. For example, these could be used where there’s a narrow alley to a back gate of a garden, rather than choosing a boom pump to reach over the house.
LOCATION OF THE POURING SITE
The position of your pouring site is going to determine which type of pump you choose. For spots which are difficult to access via ground level, a boom pump is going to be the best option. Thanks to the hydraulic arm, the pump can reach over obstacles even as tall as houses or bridges, taking the concrete to the hardest to reach spots either at height or at ground level. Perhaps there’s domestic concrete which needs to be poured in a garden at the back of a terraced house, for example. In comparison, ground line pumps run along the ground (thus the name) and usually reach 50 metres but can be extended to around 150 metres. This type of pump can be used for pouring sites located closer to the concrete delivery vehicle. They can also pour at higher levels if they can be laid up staircases or ramps.
SIZE OF THE JOB
Smaller, more simple jobs may suit ground line pumps better. You’ll need to consider the reach required, and whether a ground line pump is going to reach all the sites you need the concrete. Boom pumps are often more suitable for larger commercial construction projects where accurate placement of high volumes of concrete is required in some of the hardest to reach areas. However, if the pour site is close enough and the pumps don’t need lifting over obstacles, ground line pumps are more suitable.
- is ready-mixed concrete that can be used for both home and commercial construction projects.
We provide delivery of ready-made concrete or a mixture that can be mixed directly at the construction site.
- Application: For the convenience of the customer, to avoid the need to pick up the concrete themselves.
We do this with:
Concrete Mixer - equipment for mixing the components of a concrete mixture. They can be stationary or mobile.
- Application: On a construction site for preparing concrete.
Concrete pumps: Overhead and Boom Pumps: These are specialized machines that are used to pump concrete to heights or to hard-to-reach places. “Overhead” and “Boom” refer to different types of concrete pumps.
The listed equipment can be ordered as a separate service.
Concrete is mixed at the construction site rather than pre-mixed in a factory:
- Application: Depending on the specific task (foundations, screed, road surface, etc.).
Do-it-yourself trade - you can mix the concrete yourself on site, using ready-made components or a mixture.
Volumetric concrete: we can pre-calculate the volume of a concrete mixture that can be prepared on-site.
Collections: The collection of ready-mixed concrete or components at a specific site depending on your requirements.
Concrete additives: We add chemicals to the concrete mixture to improve its properties (for example, speed up hardening or improve plasticity).
This is a layer of concrete mixture that is used to level the surface of the floor before laying floor coverings.
A tool that helps estimate the volume and weight of concrete required to cover a given area. This is useful when planning construction projects1.
- Application: Allows customers to accurately determine the amount of material for their project.
